Civil Engineer Job Description

This is an opportunity to join our Engineering Department as a Civil Engineer! In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of civil design tasks, ensuring projects meet all technical requirements and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and review civil design for various elements, including earthworks, geotechnical measures, underground structures, and soil stabilization.
• Prepare supporting reports for your designs.
• Analyze and interpret geotechnical reports and data.
• Develop construction documents, including shop drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and Building Information Modeling (BIM) modules by managing and supervising drafters.
• Review third-party designs for compliance with project requirements and local/international standards.
• Assist the procurement department by evaluating designs and shop drawings from manufacturers and vendors.
• Create preliminary civil and geotechnical designs during the tender stage.
• Proficient in civil engineering analysis software.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, vendors, procurement, subcontractors, and internal departments to gather design input data.
• Address client feedback and participate in design meetings to achieve final approval.

• Internally: Engineering Director, Supervisors, Other Disciplines Engineers, Construction Team
• Externally: Vendors & Subcontractors, Partners, Owner & Consultant Staff, Geotechnical Third Parties

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (a background in geotechnical engineering is a plus)
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the civil engineering field
• Experience with civil design for large-scale projects
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles
• Understanding of design sequencing
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia is a benefit
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Commitment to quality and responsibility
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience with civil design software like AutoCAD, Civil3D, Earthwork software, STAAD.pro, and CSI software is a plus
• Knowledge of Revit and BIM software is a benefit
