The chief information security officer (ciso) is the head of cyber security, driving the cyber security strategy and implementation forward whilst protecting the business from security threats and cyber-hacking in order
to stay compliant with SAMA and National cyber security requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Creating and implementing strategy for the deployment of cyber security.
• Performing cyber security risk assessments and reporting on ways to minimize threats.
• Monitoring security vulnerabilities and hacking threats in network and host systems
• Ensuring business continuity.
• Communicating with key stakeholders about cyber security threats
• Implementing an effective process for the reporting of security incidents.
• Overseeing the investigation of reported security breaches.
• Developing strategies to handle security incidents and trigger investigations
• Managing the cyber security team, security experts and advisors.
• Complying with the latest regulations and compliance requirements -
• Championing and educating the organization about the latest security strategies and technologies.
• Managing the IT security budget and communicating this with the appropriate parties.
• Reporting to CEO and being an active member of the senior management team
• Running security audits and risk assessments.
• Conducting a continuous assessments of current IT security practices and systems and identifying areas for improvement.
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, security or equivalent with minimum 2 to 5 years as managerial level as same experience in network and security domain. Additional certification such as CISSP is preferred.
• Experience: should possess an understanding of network security technology, including strategy, design, and architecture as normally obtained through work experience.
