Liqueo are currently looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures, including financial risk management. This will be a 12 month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage the day-to-day function of the Finance department and team.
- Oversee weekly credit control (escalate for payment information if required).
- Pay invoices once a week/make ad-hoc payment requests (including international payments).
- Co-ordinate monthly invoicing process, preparation of invoicing notes and spreadsheet.
- Preparing and maintaining monthly cashflow forecasts and various scenarios of current forecasts.
- Balance sheet reconciliations for payroll control accounts, employee benefits and the intercompany position.
- Paying or coordinating corporation tax calculations and payments.
- Line management of 2 direct reports which includes conducting bi-weekly one to one's as well as training and mentoring the team.
- Prepare for and host two weekly finance meetings.
- Establish and implement strategies to deliver detailed, accurate and commercially valuable financial reporting on all aspects of each area of the business operations.
- Keep abreast of functional best practice, leveraging industry experience to benchmark business with the hospitality and property sectors.
- Seek to innovate and establish new working practices to continually develop our business.
- Work with the management team to drive the growth strategy for the business including annual development of detailed business plans for each area of the business.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Ideally you will have experience of working in small to medium sized business.
- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Advanced degree, ACA/ACCA or CIMA Qualified.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Self-starter with a pro-active mindset and technically proficient.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills, preferably with Xero.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with Xero.
This is a fully remote position with no travel required.
