Academic Counselor

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising and career counseling to students based on their goals and academic performance.
• Assist students in selecting courses and developing academic plans in line with graduation requirements.
• Monitor student progress and intervene with support strategies as needed.
• Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate with faculty and administration to address students academic or personal challenges.
• Stay updated on educational trends, degree programs, and institutional policies.
• Guide students through college admissions or transfer processes when applicable.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field (Masters preferred).
• Proven experience as an academic or guidance counselor.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with educational systems, assessment tools, and student information systems.
• Empathy and a genuine interest in student development.
