AMI Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an AMI Specialist to support the operation and performance of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. The role will focus on monitoring smart meter data, ensuring communication reliability, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting integration between field devices, Head-End Systems (HES), and Meter Data Management (MDM) platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor AMI system performance, meter connectivity, communication status, and data collection rates.


• Support HES and MDM systems, including integration, testing, troubleshooting, and data validation.


• Investigate smart meter communication issues and coordinate resolution with field teams, vendors, and technical stakeholders.


• Analyze meter data quality, exceptions, alarms, and performance trends.


• Prepare operational reports, system dashboards, and technical documentation.


• Maintain AMI records and contribute to system improvements and optimization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.


• Minimum 5 years of experience in AMI, AMR, smart metering, utilities, water, telecom, IoT, or industrial systems.


• Hands-on understanding of smart meters, data concentrators, HES, MDM, and communication protocols.


• Experience with meter data analysis, troubleshooting, and system monitoring.


• Certification or training in smart metering, IoT, networking, or utility technology is preferred.


• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills in English.
