Job Title: Ammonia Gas Technician

Location: Saudi Arabia
Experience Required: 3–5 Years
Salary: 70000 Rs Per Month

Job Summary:

The Ammonia Gas Technician will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial refrigeration systems that utilize ammonia as a refrigerant. This includes ensuring system efficiency, safety compliance, leak detection, and emergency response handling. The role demands thorough knowledge of ammonia-based refrigeration systems and a commitment to adhering to environmental and workplace safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems and associated equipment.

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of compressors, evaporators, condensers, and piping.

  • Detect, isolate, and repair ammonia leaks and perform emergency shutdown procedures if necessary.

  • Maintain logs of system pressures, temperatures, and operational parameters.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including hazardous chemical handling protocols.

  • Test refrigeration components for performance, efficiency, and possible issues using diagnostic tools.

  • Maintain spare parts inventory and request replacements as needed.

  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams for system upgrades or troubleshooting.

  • Conduct training or guidance to junior technicians or plant staff in ammonia safety practices.

  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, malfunctions, or alarms related to the refrigeration system.

Essential Qualifications:

  • ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Certification or training in ammonia refrigeration system handling (preferred).

  • Awareness of local safety codes and international standards related to ammonia use (e.g., OSHA, IIAR).

  • Valid Ammonia Handling Certification (if applicable by region/country).

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems (NH₃).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and system schematics.

  • Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical and control system issues.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for handling hazardous chemicals.

  • Hands-on experience with maintenance tools, leak detection devices, and pressure gauges.

  • Physical stamina and ability to work in cold or confined environments.
