Accountable for maintaining thebuilding and grounds with particular attention towards safety,security and asset protection. Assigns, tracks and follows up onstatus of work assigned to staff and contractors. Helps increase guestand employee satisfaction through effective communications andtraining. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience • High schooldiploma or GED; 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenanceor related professional area; technical training inHVAC-R/electrical/plumbing. OR • 2-year degree from an accrediteduniversity in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, orrelated major; 2 years experience in the engineering and maintenanceor related professional area; technical training inHVAC-R/electrical/plumbing. CORE WORK ACTIVITIESSupporting managementof Department Operations and Engineering Budgets • Assists ineffectively planning, scheduling and evaluating preventativemaintenance programs. • Helps establish priorities for total propertymaintenance needs. • Supervises the day to day operations ofEngineering. • Assists in managing the physical plant includingequipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electricaland life safety systems. • Maintains and operates equipment at optimumeffectiveness, efficiency and safety. • Supervises distribution ofrepair work orders. • Assists in maintaining grounds, meeting rooms,ballrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles andrecreational facilities as needed. • Acts as technical liaison for alldepartments in property. • Supervises Engineering in the absence ofthe Director of Engineering. • Recommends or arranges for additionalservices such as painting, repair work, renovations, and thereplacement of furnishings and equipment. • Selects and makespurchases of new equipment, supplies, and furnishings. • Inspects andevaluates the physical condition of facilities in order to determinethe type of work required. • Manages parts, supplies and equipmentinventories effectively by minimizing downtime and maximizing cashflow. • Performs inspections effectively. • Assists in evaluating andimplementing new technologies, equipment and supplies. • Assists inestablishing and implementing an energy conservation program.Maintaining Engineering Standards • Helps ensure necessary permits andlicenses for building and physical plant are obtained and keptcurrent. • Helps ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulationsand safety standards. • Ensures compliance with all Engineeringdepartmental policies, standards and procedures. • Ensures allemployees have the proper supplies, equipment and uniforms. EnsuringExceptional Customer Service • Displays leadership in guesthospitality by exemplifying excellent customer service and creating apositive atmosphere for guest relations. • Interacts with guests toobtain feedback on product quality and service levels. • Empowersemployees to provide excellent customer service. Conducting HumanResources Activities • Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guestservice, operational needs and financial objectives are met. • Helpstrain employees in safety procedures. • Assists in training otherdepartment employees in fire protection, safety and evacuationprocedures. • Provides feedback to employees based on observation ofservice behaviors. • Assists in performing operational activities asnecessary.
