Audiovisual Script Writer

A multinational organization operating at the forefront of energy innovation is seeking a Script Writer who will be responsible for researching, developing, and writing audiovisual program scripts on a variety of topics related to the organization’s business and public relations activities. This role requires close collaboration with internal representatives, stakeholders, and clients to ensure technical accuracy, adherence to corporate messaging standards, and delivery of high-quality scripts that meet production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Meet with project representatives to gather initial requirements and scheduling information.
• Provide weekly progress reports on project development.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to collect information essential for meeting program objectives and script creation.
• Conduct thorough research to ensure scripts are factually and technically accurate.
• Participate in site visits and location scouting.
• Prepare scripts primarily in English, unless otherwise specified.
• Obtain approval of program objectives before script development begins.
• Format all scripts in a two-column style—visuals or program images in the left column, and audio/narration/dialogue with music and sound effect notes in the right column.
• Develop related project materials such as program descriptions and media packaging text, when requested.
• Submit the primary language version of each script with complete narrative, visual, and production details.
• Revise scripts as needed until final approval is granted.
• Research and write audiovisual program scripts on a wide range of topics related to business and public relations.
• Develop program objectives in close consultation with clients, ensuring consistency with corporate messaging guidelines.
• Create scripts based on approved objectives, incorporating client feedback until final approval.
• Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Media Writer, Editor, or Technical Writer within the energy sector or related industries.
• Proven ability to understand complex scientific and technical concepts and convey them clearly to a general audience (work samples required).
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Technical/Creative Writing, Media Studies, or Multi-Media Production from an accredited institution.
• Possess motion picture/multi-media writing expertise; additional assignments may include scenarios, narratives, proposals, and other technical writing.
