Job Description - Business Development Agent

Role Overview

As a Freelance Business Development Agent, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and securing new business opportunities for Gen Plus Group. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor the market for upcoming RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and pitches across public and private sectors and connect those opportunities with our leadership team.

You will act as an external growth partner—sourcing leads, initiating conversations, and creating entry points with potential clients across industries such as consumer brands, corporate, public affairs, lifestyle, tech, and digital communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the market for upcoming RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and pitch opportunities across the region.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients and business leads.
  • Identify decision-makers within target companies and initiate first-level outreach.
  • Share timely updates on relevant opportunities with the Gen Plus Group team.
  • Facilitate initial introductions and support in lead qualification.
  • Promote Gen Plus Group’s services—including PR, communications, digital, creative, and strategic consulting—to prospective clients.
  • Maintain a basic tracker of outreach, prospects, and opportunities.
  • Represent the company professionally as an extension of our business development team.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in sales, business development, media, PR, marketing, advertising, or communications.
  • Strong network within the regional business ecosystem (preferred).
  • Ability to independently scan the market for new opportunities, government portals, and company announcements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
