The Director of Business Development leads the firm’s business growth strategy, overseeing client acquisition and retention, partnership development, and proposal management. This role is essential in expanding the firm’s consulting portfolio, enhancing market presence, and building lasting relationships with strategic clients and partners. The Director is responsible for identifying new opportunities, managing the proposal lifecycle, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive revenue and ensure long term business sustainability.
• Strategic Business Growth: Lead the development and execution of business development strategies aligned with the firm’s growth objectives across regions and sectors.
• Client Acquisition & Retention: Identify, approach, and secure new clients while strengthening existing relationships to ensure continued engagement.
• Proposal Development: Oversee the preparation of high-quality technical and financial proposals. Collaborate with consulting teams to tailor value propositions and solutions.
• Partnerships & Alliances: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to expand market reach and capabilities. Lead negotiations and manage alliance portfolios. • Market Intelligence & Strategic Database Building: Analyze market trends, competitors, and client needs to refine business development strategies and identify emerging opportunities.
• Lead the development and maintenance of an internal intelligence database to capture and update information on key competitors (e.g., service offerings, pricing models, sector presence, and competitive advantages) and clients (current and potential).
Educational
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
Experience
Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior business development or client-facing leadership role within a consulting firm.
Training Certification
Certifications in Business Development, Sales Management, or Proposal Writing are advantageous.
Other
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, deep market insight, and a results-driven mindset.
