Job Summary
Operate CNC lathes as per given work instruction/drawing.
Candidates should have experience in machining of threaded connections on Drill Pipe, Tubulars or OCTG material.
Knowledge of Fanuc or Mazak controls and CNC programming
Key Responsibilityies
- To follow all safety rules, policies provided by NOV
- Set up the Machine as per requirement/specification to ensure proper working order
- Produce/Machine threaded connections (API, GP and other) and parts as per provided drawing and program
- Carry out inspection and verify that each thread and part are generated as per the provide specification
- To ensure that regular and preventive maintenance procedure is carried out each shift
- Record all dimensional parameters in the process sheet
- Create and maintain daily activity logs
- Identify and report drawing errors and suggest for improvements
- Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy
- Carry out any other duties reasonable within capability as required by the Machine Shop Supervisor / Manager or his designee
- To know the company safety and environmental rules and regulations
- To report to immediate supervisor/manager during the emergency situations
- Participation & Consultation towards review of Risk Assessment & Impact Aspects
- To attend all the HSEMS and QMS trainings planned by QA, Safety and HR
- Know and understand the safe working procedures for their work
- Recognize environmental, health, and safety hazards
Authority & Accountability
- Authorized to report any act/incident related to misbehavior at workplace
- Accountable for complying with the company safety and environmental rules and regulations
- Accountable for daily production target
- Accountable for reporting quality risks and authorized to report and stop the production if required
- Accountable for maintaining the company property
Experience/Education/Skill-set Required
- Higher Secondary Certificate/Technical - Diploma of Mechanical Engineering
- Must have a minimum 2 year of experience in operating a CNC lathe on Rotary Shoulder Connection (API, Grant Prideco, Tenaris, VAM etc.), on Drill pipe, Drill collar, Drill Stem component, or similar background
- Knowledge of CNC tool settings, able to interpret engineering drawing & specification to API, Grant Prideco, DS1, VAM, etc.
- Knowledge of Fanuc or Mazak control and CNC programming
- Preferably have Knowledge of machining Threaded Connections on Drill Pipe, Tubulars and OCTG material
