The Business Development Manager is responsible for planning, directing and managing all the activities, processes and operations within the Business Development function, including R&D activities, and providing support and assistance to contracting functions as and when required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops adequate policies, procedures and processes for the Business Development function to maintain efficient operational excellence in order to achieve the company’s strategic objectives.
Identifies new projects, including new geographies, and ensures that newly identified opportunities are in line with risk management and diversification strategies.
Reviews the detailed proposals for new projects to facilitate approval by executive management.
Identifies and establishes new clients for potential business opportunities and maintains strong and close relationships with existing clients.
Reviews and recommends bids methodologies and schedules, and provide information to ensure full preparation of bid package.
Reviews tender documentation in relation to pricing including instructions, general and special conditions and requirements, measurements, bills of quantity, specifications, and drawings.
Support Estimating & Bidding function in proposal preparation, development and submission.
Plans and oversees market research, analysis and assessment to provide support to company business development and any other research needs of departments.
Provides input and analysis to ensure competitiveness of services in specific markets and segments, to assist in achieving the anticipated growth targets for the company.
Contributes in defining and improving company services through market analysis, sales information and specialized surveys.
Conducts and periodically update research and benchmarking of global and regional contracting companies to identify emerging / leading practices and expand the company business capabilities and market penetration.
Reviews financial feasibility of contracting projects and provides inputs and feedback.
Liaises with corporate Business Development on matters related to latest techniques, equipment and technology used, in addition to sharing and exchanging information and studies.
Participates in the development and evaluation of improved techniques and methodologies in the construction industry through managing Research and Design activities within the department or through external service providers.
Monitors new technical and environmental regulations and policies issued by the concerned regulators
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
Minimum of 10 years solid experience in business development, in contracting industry
Experience in the construction industry and related field in Saudi Arabia and the region
