ROLE OVERVIEW

The Project HSEW Assurance Director is responsible for engaging, and managing relationships with key stakeholders across various sectors, including clients, partners and internal teams. The role requires a strategic approach to management of HSEW standards the HSEW Director shall work closely with senior leadership and other departments to align HSAS standards, develop and implement an assurance program. The position reports directly to the Executive Director - HSEW projects.

REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY

• Experience with delivery strategic HSEW programs.
• Experience in HSEW assurance implementation programs.
• Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.
• Capability to identify inefficiencies and areas of improvement in existing processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• High attention to details to ensure the processes are optimized.
• Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Competence in negotiating with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Flexibility to adjust strategies based on changing circumstances or feedback.
• Ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired outcomes.
• Ability to command respect.
• Able to utilize data and produce monthly reports.
• Key point of contact for external and internal auditors on HSEW.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES

The HSEW assurance Director responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Stakeholder Management

• Develop and implement an HSEW assurance program across all projects
• Analyze stakeholders’ needs, interests, and influence to prioritize engagement strategies.
• Analyze and investigate incidents and observations ensuring lessons are learned to avoid reoccurrences.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with all projects and regions.
• Deputize for the ED HSEW in their absence.
• Manage the dissemination of HSEW information, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
• Identify and address potential conflicts or issues with stakeholders proactively.
• Maintain projects HSEW policies and procedures.
• Conduct audits and evaluations of projects.

Change Management

• Stay informed about best practices in stakeholder management and apply them to enhance engagement strategies.
• Seek feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the quality of engagement and communication.
• Promote transparency and accountability in all interactions with stakeholders.
• Identify potential risks associated with the change and develop strategies to mitigate them
• Develop a strategy that outlines the approach, resources and timelines for implementing the change.

Project Management

• Provide regular reports to senior management on stakeholder engagement status, risks, and opportunities.
• Use feedback and data to refine and improve stakeholder management strategies.
• Coordinate stakeholder involvement in projects, ensuring their feedback is integrated into planning and decision-making processes.
• Track and monitor stakeholder engagement activities and their impact on project outcomes.
• Manage the Projects Enablon platform.
• Manage budgets.

       Leadership

• Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other communication materials tailored to stakeholder needs.
• Ensure that all contractors HSEW  activities comply with the relevant regulations and ethical standards.
• Utilize data analytics to drive strategies and decisions.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 12+ years of experience in HSEW management at a senior level.
• Proven track record of successfully managing assurance programs.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Excellent reporting verbal and written skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• Relevant HSE qualifications. Level 6 OSH Diploma
• Lead auditor qualifications
• Relevant Professional Memberships/Accreditation of internation HSE body.
