Director Technical Design - Residential (RES8)

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a highly skilled Director of Technical Design - Residential to lead the technical design efforts for our residential development projects. This role entails collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that design solutions are not only innovative and aesthetically pleasing but also functional and compliant with the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design process for residential projects, from initial concept through to final implementation.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including architecture, engineering, and construction to deliver high-quality residential designs.
• Ensure that all technical designs are up-to-date with local regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Review and approve technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Conduct regular design reviews and provide technical guidance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Manage relationships with external consultants and contractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.
• Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that technical designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
• Mentor and develop a team of technical designers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in residential design and engineering.
• Participate in budgeting and cost estimation activities related to technical design components of residential projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
• A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in technical design, specifically within residential development projects.
• Strong understanding of residential building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to manage complex design processes and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively and provide innovative design solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of clearly articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in design software, engineering tools, and project management applications.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a passion for developing and guiding design teams.
• Experience in project management, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
