Facilities Management Specialist - Sporting event

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia ( Candidates based in Riyadh will only be considered)

Contract Duration: 1 October 2026 – 6 February 2027

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Management Specialist to support facilities and venue operations for a major football event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of facilities, including maintenance, cleaning, contractor coordination, workplace services, and the resolution of operational facility issues. The role will work closely with internal teams, service providers, contractors, and venue stakeholders to ensure facilities remain operational and meet the required standards throughout the event period.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day facilities management activities across assigned workplaces and/or event venues.


• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities and ensure timely resolution of facility-related issues.


• Oversee cleaning and general facility services to ensure agreed service levels are maintained.


• Coordinate and monitor facilities management contractors and service providers.


• Follow up on work orders, maintenance requests, defects, and outstanding issues through to completion.


• Conduct regular inspections of facilities and identify maintenance, cleanliness, and operational requirements.


• Ensure facilities are ready and maintained to support daily operations and event requirements.


• Liaise with venue teams, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues.


• Monitor contractor performance and escalate service delivery issues where required.


• Maintain accurate records, reports, schedules, and documentation related to facilities operations.


• Support the implementation of facilities management procedures, standards, and operational requirements.


• Assist with the preparation and readiness of facilities prior to and during the event.


• Respond effectively to urgent facilities-related issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.


• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with applicable health, safety, security, and operational requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, Property Management, or a related discipline.


• 3+ years of relevant experience in facilities management or a related field.


• Experience managing facilities services, maintenance, cleaning, and contractors.


• Strong experience in one or more of the following environments:

• Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills.


• Good understanding of facilities operations, maintenance, and service delivery.


• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to changing operational requirements.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard facilities management systems/tools.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting major sporting events, large-scale events, stadium operations, hospitality, or mega projects.


• Previous experience working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC is advantageous.


• Knowledge of event venue facilities and operational readiness is an advantage.
