Faculty Member in English - Preparatory year

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and engaging Faculty Member in English to join the Preparatory Year Program. The role focuses on developing students’ academic English proficiency, communication skills, and readiness for healthcare and medical education through high -quality teaching and student -centered learning approaches.

Teaching & Academic Delivery

• Deliver English language lectures, tutorials, and interactive learning sessions for preparatory year students
  
• Teach academic reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, and communication skills
  
• Support students in developing academic and medical terminology proficiency
  
• Apply student -centered and outcome -based teaching strategies
  
• Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools effectively
  
• Prepare and administer assessments, assignments, and examinations
  
• Maintain accurate academic records including attendance, grades, and reports
  

Student Support & Development

• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students
  
• Support students with varying English proficiency levels
  
• Monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback to improve learning outcomes
  

Academic Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards
  
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives
  
• Prepare course files, reports, and required academic documentation on time
  

Research & Professional Development

• Participate in academic activities, workshops, conferences, and professional development programs
  
• Contribute to departmental and institutional initiatives where applicable
  

Collaboration & Engagement

• Participate in departmental meetings and academic committees
  
• Collaborate with faculty members to support student success and program objectives
  

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related field
  
• Experience teaching English in preparatory year, foundation, or higher education programs preferred
  
• Strong command of academic English and communication skills
  
• Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and educational technologies
  

• Strong teaching and presentation skills
