Faculty Member in Medicine Program - Physiology

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching & Curriculum Development:
  

  • Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical sessions on Physiology, and related subjects to undergraduate and graduate medical students.
    
  • Develop and update course content to reflect the latest advances in physiology and its clinical applications.
    
  • Supervise and mentor students during laboratory and research activities, fostering a solid understanding of physiological concepts in medical contexts.
    
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to guide their academic development.
    

• Research:
  

  • Lead independent and collaborative research projects in Physiology and clinical applications.
    
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
    
  • Supervise and mentor graduate students, medical residents, and research fellows in their research endeavors.
    

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
  

  • Collaborate with clinical departments to integrate physiology concepts with clinical practice, enhancing students' understanding of physiology in the context of disease and treatment.
    
  • Engage in interdisciplinary teaching, contributing to integrated medical courses and clinical education.
    

• Student Mentorship & Advising:
  

  • Provide academic and career advising to medical students, guiding them through their studies and future professional development.
    
  • Support students in their research projects, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry.
    

• Professional Development & Service:
  

  • Participate in institutional committees, faculty meetings, and academic initiatives to enhance the medical curriculum continually.
    
  • Engage in ongoing professional development by attending academic conferences and staying current with the latest research and trends in physiology and medical education.
    

Education: PhD in Physiology, or a closely related field. Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with clinical experience as a physician.

• Strong research background with a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex physiology concepts to medical students clearly.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic team.
