The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and providing strategic financial insights. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in accounting, preferably within the construction or heavy equipment rental industry.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring variances and providing actionable insights.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment disbursements, and collections.
- Fixed Assets Management: Maintain and update records of fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and asset disposals.
- Internal Controls: Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with all tax regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to other staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. Experience in the heavy equipment rental or construction industry is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo Enterprise, SAP Business One ) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and lead by example.
