JOBSUMMARY

Assists in carrying out the daily activities ofthe Human Resource Office including recruitment total compensationand training and development. Additionally he/she assists indelivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of employeesand enable business success; as well as ensuring compliance withall applicable laws regulations and operatingprocedures.

CANDIDATEPROFILE

Education andExperience

  • High schooldiploma or GED; 2 years experience in the human resourcesmanagement operations or related professionalarea.

OR

  • 2yeardegree from an accredited university in Human Resources BusinessAdministration or related major; no work experiencerequired.

CORE WORKACTIVITIES

Assisting in Managing Recruitment andHiring Process

  • Assists inthe interviewing and hiring of Human Resource employee team memberswith the appropriate skills asneeded.
  • Assists inestablishing and maintains contact with external recruitmentsources.
  • Attends job fairsand ensures documentation of outreach efforts in accordance withHuman Resource Standard OperatingProcedures.
  • Networks withlocal organizations (e.g. Hotel Association and peers) to sourcecandidates for current or futureopenings.
  • Assists inmonitoring candidate identification and selectionprocess.
  • Performs qualitycontrol on candidateidentification/selection.

Assisting in Administering andEducating EmployeeBenefits

  • Works with theunemployment services provider to respond to unemployment claims;reviews provider reports for accuracy and correctserrors.
  • Assists withunemployment claim activityreports.
  • Attendsunemployment hearings and ensures property is properly representedas needed.

Assisting in Managing EmployeeDevelopment

  • Assists withdepartmental orientation program for employees to receive theappropriate new hire training to successfully perform theirjob.
  • Ensures employees arecrosstrained to support successful dailyoperations.
  • Assists withcoordination and facilitation of new hire orientation program togenerate a positive first impression for employees and emphasizethe importance of guest service in companyculture.
  • Ensuresattendance by all new hires and participation of the leadershipteam in trainingprograms
  • Assists withensuring departmental orientation processes are in place andemployees receive the appropriate new hire training to successfullyperform their job.

Assisting in Maintaining EmployeeRelations

  • Assists inmaintaining effective employee communication channels in theproperty (e.g. develops daily communications and assists withregularly scheduled propertywidemeetings).
  • Reviewsprogressive discipline documentation for accuracy and consistencyand checks for supportive documentation and is accountable fordetermining appropriateaction.
  • Utilizes an opendoor policy to acknowledge employee problems or concerns in atimely manner
  • Ensuresemployee issues are referred to the Department Manager forresolution or escalated to the Director of HumanResources/MultiProperty Director of HumanResources.
  • Partners withLoss Prevention to conduct employee accident investigations asnecessary.
  • Communicatesperformance expectations in accordance with job descriptions foreach position.

Assisting in Managing Legal andCompliance Practices

  • Assistswith ensuring employee files contain required employment paperworkproper performance management and compensation documentation areproperly maintained and secured for the required length oftime.
  • Assists withensuring compliance with procedure for accessing reviewing andauditing employee files and ensure compliance with the PrivacyAct.
  • Assists with ensuringmedical records are maintained in a separate secure andconfidential medicalfile.
  • Facilitates randomreasonable belief and post accident drug testing process (inproperties whereapplicable).
  • Communicatesproperty rules and regulations via the employeehandbook.
  • Assists withensuring all safety and security policies (e.g. property removallost and found items blood borne pathogens accident reporting andhygiene) are communicated to employees on a regular basis throughorientation property meetings bulletin boardsetc.
  • Assists with periodicclaims reviews with Regional Claims office to ensure claims areclosed in a timely manner and reserve levels are appropriate foropen claims.
  • Assists withmanaging Workers Compensation claims to ensure appropriate employeecare and managecosts.
