Job Description - Management Consulting Project Support

Location: Riyadh, KSA.
Project Duration: 2-6 months.
Years of experience: 10+ years.
Language Requirements: Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Management Consultant (Manager level) to embed within the managing director's office of a large contracting company. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional follow-through and the ability to manage complex projects independently. The consultant will lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, address critical issues across tendering, procurement, HR, and project management (PMO), and project execution. The consultant will also collaborate with senior leadership to ensure mandate achievement (e.g., performance management system) and work closely with the chairman on various tasks.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operating Model Transformation: Lead the analysis and redesign of the existing operating model, identifying and implementing optimization opportunities for significant impact.
  2. Tendering and Project Management Leadership: Provide expert strategic guidance on tendering processes, PMO setup, project controls, and reporting, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
  3. Contracting Project Execution Oversight: Identify and resolve complex bottlenecks, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall project performance, with a focus on mitigating risks and maximizing outcomes.
  4. Mandate Achievement: Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the successful achievement of performance goals and the implementation of effective systems across the organization.
  5. Executive Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to the chairman and top management at the client site, providing insights on data analysis, operating model design, organizational structure optimization, and leading high-level stakeholder workshops.
  6. Change Management and Implementation: Design and execute comprehensive change management strategies to ensure the successful implementation of various initiatives, including communication plans, stakeholder engagement, training programs, and performance tracking.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong Business Acumen: Deep understanding of contracting business dynamics, including tendering, project management, and operational challenges.
  • Extensive Management Consulting Experience: Proven track record of leading successful consulting engagements in operational efficiency, project management, and organizational transformation.
  • Consulting Mindset: Ability to quickly assess situations, identify core issues, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Contracting Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of contracting business dynamics, including project management, and operational challenges specific to this industry.
  • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with C-suite executives and stakeholders at all levels, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze complex situations from a strategic perspective, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions that drive long-term value.
  • PM: Proven experience in setting up and managing projects, including project controls, reporting, and risk management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis capabilities to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Facilitation Skills: Experience in leading workshops and facilitating discussions with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Self-Management Excellence: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to Results: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects, follow through on commitments, and deliver tangible, measurable results that exceed expectations.
  • Reporting Excellence: Ability to create clear, concise, and impactful reports that communicate complex information to various stakeholders, including executives and senior management.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to manage junior consultants and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver various tasks and achieve project objectives
Project Timeline:
The project duration is estimated to be between 2-6 months, with the possibility of extension based on project dynamics and evolving needs.
Additional Notes:
  • The consultant will be working onsite at the client's location 5 days a week, with Saturday work dependent on the chairman's requirements.
  • The consultant will report directly to the Managing Director.
