Role location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose: The Local PR Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations initiatives to enhance the company's visibility and reputation within Saudi Arabia. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with local media, government entities, and key stakeholders, as well as collaborating with internal teams and external PR agencies. The goal is to support the company's objectives through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and advise on Saudi Arabia specific PR strategies that align with the company's business goals.

• Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies to enhance the company's visibility and reputation, in line with Global PR objectives

• Coordinate and manage press releases, media briefings, and interviews for EWCF Spokespersons and other associated stakeholders with Saudi Arabian media

• Build and maintain strong relationships with the Arabic speaking media in Saudi Arabia, including journalists, editors, and influencers.

• Proactively pitch stories and secure high-impact media coverage in top tier Saudi Arabian media.

• Develop strong relationships with Saudi Arabian media agencies, continuously ensuring coverage through those organizations for key EWCF beats

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with government officials and regulatory bodies.

• Ensure compliance with all local regulations and policies.

• Work closely with the Marketing department to ensure alignment of PR and marketing strategies.

• Coordinate and manage relationships with external local PR agencies to ensure alignment with the company's PR strategies.

• Write and edit high-quality content in Arabic for various communication channels, including press releases, articles, and social media.

• Translate content from English to Arabic and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.

• Review provided Arabic translations, as needed

• On-site support during the live event, each summer for up to 8 weeks in Riyadh.

Education and Experience

• 6+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, or government relations, preferably in Saudi Arabia.

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

6+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, or government relations, preferably in Saudi Arabia.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth understanding of the local media landscape, including key media outlets, media agencies journalists, and influencers in Saudi Arabia.

• Knowledge of the government structure and regulatory environment in Saudi Arabia.

• Strong understanding of the Sports and Entertainment industry, including current trends and key players.

• Knowledge of/passion for gaming and esports industries and affinity with the overall global gaming landscape.

• Awareness of cultural nuances and sensitivities in Saudi Arabia to ensure effective communication.

• Ability to analyze media coverage, government policies, and industry trends to inform PR strategies, and ability to provide comprehensive C-level updates on local PR coverage and EWC sentiment

• Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders to support the company's initiatives and objectives.

• Capability to work independently and take initiative while also being a team player.

• Ability to work cross-time zones, with stakeholders from other MENA and European countries

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to craft compelling messages and translate content accurately.
