We are seeking apassionate and dynamic marketing leader with a track record ofdriving highly successful teams across multiple projects. Workingalongside the commercial and marketing teams the individual will bea key contributor to business strategy providing ideas and insightto drive continuous improvement and develop newinitiatives.

The Marketing Director will managea team of senior managers marketing executives and specialistfunctions and will be a skilled marketing strategist able toinspire creativity and enthusiasm in others. The individual needsto be analytical and data orientated with a history of testing andoptimisation but with creative flair and exceptional attention todetail. The candidate should have extensive experience of digitalmarketing and marketing technology and be accustomed to deliveringin a fastpaced dynamic environment.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • To ensurestrategic marketing objectives are identified andachieved
  • To act as a change managementambassador demonstrating a positive and constructive attitudetowards challenges and change
  • To share bestpractice within the team and wider business
  • Toensure the team has the appropriate skills and resources to deliveragreed objectives
  • To actively contribute tothe strategic plans for products within theportfolio
  • To manage an event marketing teamand work with specialist functions and roles including; digitalmarketers designers content creators social media and audiencedevelopment

Key PerformanceIndicators:

  • Devise anddeliver innovative consumer and B2B marketing campaigns to achievepredetermined objectives/targets
  • Marketingteam is motivated and appropriately skilled/trained to carry outtheir responsibilities
  • Marketing team workscollaboratively with other departments to deliver sharedobjectives
  • Marketing campaigns are deliveredwithin budget with spend allocations based on sound commercialreasoning

Main Duties& Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Member of theportfolios management team
  • Active role in thedevelopment and implementation of initiatives
  • Work with portfolio management to develop value propositions andmessaging to drive engagement and conversion
  • Identify and deliver key portfoliowide projects to positionproducts for continued growth (e.g. branding cross marketing keyaccount management first time exhibitor experienceetc)
  • Understand recent customer surveyfeedback and apply this information to marketingstrategies
  • Identify risks to the businessachieving marketing targets and work with the portfolio managementteam to mitigate
  • Share marketing case studiesand best practice from across the business by forging collaborativerelationships with marketers from across theportfolios.

Management

  • Lead a team ofmarketing and digital managers across a portfolio ofproducts.
  • Provide guidance feedback andinspiration to the team.
  • Work with MarketingManagers to ensure successful delivery of marketing campaigns inline with agreed KPIs event and divisionalstrategy.
  • Work with line reports to developskills and competencies and ensure they have a clear developmentroadmap.
  • Develop succession plan to identifytop talent flight risks and guarantee continuous delivery from theteam.
  • Champion the adoption and optimisationof marketing technology solutions
  • Cultivateand demonstrate a highperformance culture within the marketingteam.

Campaign Strategy& Delivery

  • Lead theportfolios marketing strategy. Responsible for the marketing dataand digital portfolio strategy and delivering strategic showmarketing.
  • A clear understanding of thebusinesss overall mission how this should be communicated throughmarketing and PR and an ability to use marketing technology todeliver results.
  • Responsible for best practiceand knowledge sharing (marketing digital data and customerinsights) across the portfolio.
  • Take the leadand document the results of pilot projects andtesting.
  • Develop the capabilities of marketingacross the portfolio integrating technology into the strategy andtactical delivery. Ensure team are equipped with the skills todeliver a fresh campaign strategy.
  • Managebudgets and allocate resources amongstprojects.
  • Demonstrate and encourage creativeapproaches using market intelligence and apply it to show contentto create unique and engaging visitorexperiences.
  • Work with show teams to optimisethe engagement at each touch point in the customer journey byencouraging teams to introduce new ways of marketing and reducereliance on more familiar activities that produce decliningresults.
  • Identify trends in data to encourageteams to do more of what works and less of what doesnt; navigatingthe move away from opiniondriven decision making to datadrivendecision making.

Qualifications


MinimumEducation Level:

  • Educatedto degree level or equivalent
  • BackgroundKnowledge Skills & Experience:
    • Significant marketing leadership experience
    • Experience of managing a senior team (managingmanagers)
    • Experience of working with andmanaging senior stakeholders includinggovernment
    • Extensive experience of consumermarketing ideally in events
    • Analytical andquestioning mindset
  • Deadline and target driven
  • Thoroughunderstanding & experience of digital (PPC SEO onlineadvertising) and direct marketing
  • Databasedevelopment and growth including segmentation / advancedtargeting
  • Building relationships with partnersand stakeholders
  • Significant exposure todesign and print suppliers / agencies
  • Experience of working in a pressurisedenvironment
  • Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
  • Proficient in MS Officeincluding intermediate/advanced PowerPoint Word andExcel

Desirable

Experience of usingmarketing automation technology (preferablyEloqua)

  • Experience of working withCMS platforms
  • Experience of managing socialmedia through scheduling platforms such as Sprout Social orHootesuite etc. and experience of social media listening andsentiment analysis
  • Experience of marketinganalytics and reporting platforms (Google Analytics/Adobe orothers)
  • Experience using Eloqua and/or AdobeExperience Manager
  • Events marketingexperience
  • Experience of agile marketing andscaled agile desirable
  • Formalbusiness/marketing higher educationqualification
