JOBSUMMARY

The Marketing and Communications Manager is partof an important team that creates and executes propertylevelcommunications to our customers. Under the leadership of theDirector of Marketing and Communication this role promotes onbrandmessaging to customers through traditional digital and social mediachannels all with the goal of enhancing the image of the hotel.This role helps build direct marketing plans targeted campaigns andactivated channels to the end of driving consumer awareness andpreference increasing market share and building broader portfolioand brand awareness. This role focuses on showcasing Food andBeverage promotions both to hotel guests and to local patrons. Aspart of the Marketing and Communication team this role is fullyconnected into resources in their region; Marketing andCommunication Managers liaise and build deep partnerships withtheir regional eCommerce and Marketing teams to verify all localsocial and digital marketing efforts are effectively integratedwith the selling efforts for the organization. This role also getsto do a little bit of everything from balancing traditional anddigital marketing and eCommerce activities to contributing topublic relations (PR) activities for the hotel. Success is measuredby how well they help drive the sales and revenue strategy of theproperty social media engagement and also by how effectivelyleveraged the resources around them are to create truly compellingmarketing and communicationscampaigns.

CANDIDATEPROFILE

Education andExperience

Required:

  • 2yeardegree from an accredited university in Marketing Public RelationsBusiness Administration or related major and 4 years experience inthe sales marketing digital or related professional area;hospitality marketing or digital advertising experiencepreferred

OR

  • 4yearbachelors degree in Marketing Public Relations Business or relatedmajor; 2 years experience in the sales marketing digital or relatedprofessional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertisingagency experiencepreferred.

CORE WORKACTIVITIES

Hotel Marketing andAdvertising

  • Executes annualmarketing plan to budget in consultation with the GM Food andBeverage leader Operations leaders Director of MarketingCommunications and cluster marketing and ecommerceteams.
  • Partners withOperations Food & Beverage and Sales teams to executepromotions and campaigns to target inhouse guests with promotionsthat drive incremental revenue to thehotel.
  • Acts as the liaisonbetween the marketing department and advertising agency on thetactical advertising campaigns creative and media plansparticularly for food and beveragepromotions.
  • ManagesF&B media schedules and verifies prompt settlement ofaccounts.
  • Partners withproperty Revenue Management to verify correct offer loadingverifying advertisement targeting is correctly directed at relevantconsumer groups
  • Executesemail marketing and displayadvertising.
  • Maintainsfrequent active engagement with Cluster eCommerce manager to verifyalignment pullthrough and 2way communication about the statusperformance evaluation opportunities and issues related to onlineprograms andinitiatives.
  • Verifies alladvertising for the hotel in digital channels is in alignment withbrand voice.

Social Media ContentManagement

  • Facilitatessocial media engagement and updating content in local digitalchannels (e.g. hotel website travelsites).
  • Develops andexecutes promotions campaign in F&B weddings spa rooms andconferences through relevant digital and social mediachannels.
  • Engages inproactive online reputation management by surfacing relevant guestcomments (positive or negative) in social media channels andresponds accordingly.

Public Relations and Visual AssetManagement

  • Develops acomprehensive PR plan per quarter along with agency and andexecutes post signoff fromGM.
  • Maintains acomprehensive list of local media contracts with particularemphasis on food critics andbloggers.
  • Manages assignedaccounts as per the media account managementsystem.
  • Writes anddistributes all press releases for property events promotions andoutlets.
  • Manages theexecution of hotel sponsored events community/government relationsactivities and press promotionalactivities.
  • Supports pullthrough of impactful PR strategy & activities to drivequality press coverage through media engagement in alignment withcommunicationsobjectives.
  • Verifies thenews clippings and other online print and social media mentionreport is completed on a monthly basis for propertydistribution.
  • Managesexternal vendors and media agencies; works with agency partners andcontinent PR leader to identify strategic media buys for theirhotel(s).
  • Surfaces andvets PR leads from the continent PR Leader regarding which are thebest media to promote thehotel.
  • Supports thecoordination of photography for F&B advertising collateraland public relations purposes between the hotel advertising agencyand the regional field marketingteams.
  • Manages photoshoots for seasonal or festive promotions in partnership with thecluster or area marketingteam.
  • Acts as centralpoint of contact for regionally approved local photographers forfood amenity and property imagery; coordinates with area or clustermarketing to verify all photography adheres to brandvoice.

Direct Marketing and CollateralDevelopment

  • Coordinates andexecutes Hotel and F&B printedmaterials.
  • Controlsquantity and inventory of all Hotel marketing collateral andverifies copies are filed in a comprehensivemanner.
  • Assists in theproduction of all property F&B display and temporarysignage in hotel publicareas.
  • Promotes collectionof competitors collateral and publicity on a monthlybasis.
  • Manages theexecution of F&B direct marketingactivities.
  • Verifies allcollateral is as per brand standard guidelines and in compliancewith Brand Standard Audit(BSA).

General

  • Assistsand manages the development coordination and execution of allcommunications activities with a strong emphasis on propertyF&B promotions andcampaigns.
  • Helps with thepublication of hotelsnewsletter(s).
  • Supportscommunications duties and functions as deemednecessary.
  • Assists in theliaison and execution of joint F&Bpromotions.
  • Works witheCommerce to verify the Hotels website and related websites areupdated on a regularbasis.
  • Partners withDirector of Marketing to create marketing plan aligned to hotelsales and revenuestrategy.
  • Providestraining and marketing leadership and act as a marketing subjectmatter expert for GMs Sales Leaders and Managers and Revenueleaders.
  • Coordinates withproperty and above property eCommerce and Revenue Management teamsto report success of property marketing and eCommerceperformance.
  • Keeps abreastof competition and its collateral advertising and marketing effortsand constantly evolving digital and marketingtrends.
