Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced MEP Lead (Design Review) to join our PMC team, focusing on the design review of building services (mechanical and electrical systems). The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in mechanical and electrical engineering and will be responsible for ensuring design compliance with international and local standards, regulations, and project requirements. This is a technical role, not managerial, and does not involve utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Review: Conduct thorough reviews of MEP design drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Technical Compliance: Assess designs against ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, IEC, IEEE, and local Saudi codes to confirm alignment with best practices.
• Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems in building projects.
• Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost efficiency, and energy efficiency without compromising performance.
• QA/QC: Ensure design submittals from consultants adhere to contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Risk Identification: Highlight design risks, clashes, and constructability issues, proposing solutions to mitigate them.
• Reporting: Prepare technical reports and recommendations based on design evaluations.
• Stakeholder Support: Provide technical input during design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 12+ years of experience in MEP design review, with at least 5 years in a PMC environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power distribution, lighting, ELV, and BMS for buildings.
• Standards & Codes: Familiarity with international and Saudi MEP codes (SBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE, BS, IEC, etc.).
• Software Proficiency: Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, BIM, Dialux, ETAP, HAP, and other relevant tools.
• PMC Experience: Prior experience in a design review role within a PMC organization.
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to interpret, analyze, and present technical information effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
• Experience in high-profile commercial, residential, or mixed-use building projects.
• LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design.
