MS SQL Server Consultant / Database Developer

We are looking for an MS SQL Server Consultant / Database Developer to support a government entity in Riyadh. This is a 5 -month assignment with the potential for extension, where the consultant will work closely with development and reporting teams to design, optimize, and maintain the SQL Server environment supporting business intelligence and operational systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain MS SQL Server databases, schemas, tables, and data models.
  
• Write and optimize T -SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
  
• Monitor and improve database performance through indexing strategies, query tuning, and execution plan analysis.
  
• Support ETL processes by developing and maintaining SSIS packages or similar data integration pipelines.
  
• Collaborate with BOBJ and application teams to ensure efficient data delivery for reporting.
  
• Implement database security, access control, and data governance practices.
  
• Perform database backup, recovery planning, and support high -availability configurations.
  
• Troubleshoot data -related issues, perform root -cause analysis, and implement fixes.
  
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for database structures and processes.
  
• Ensure compliance with government IT security standards and policies.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hands -on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 /2019 / 2022).
  
• Strong proficiency in T -SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization).
  
• Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
  
• Experience with SSIS or other ETL/data integration tools.
  
• Solid understanding of relational database design and data modeling.
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to document clearly and present technical information.
  

• Microsoft certifications (MCSA / MCSE: Data Management) are a plus.
  
• Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or Analysis Services (SSAS).
  
• Experience supporting BI tools such as SAP BusinessObjects or Power BI.
  
• Previous experience working with government or public -sector entities.
  
• Knowledge of Azure SQL or cloud -based SQL Server environments.
  
• Exposure to data warehousing concepts (e.g., Kimball or Inmon methodologies).
