Due to the growth of our business, DNV Maritime Saudi is looking for a candidate with approximately 5-7 years of experience in the offshore or marine industry to join our team of surveyors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The position offers the candidate a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing team in a transforming country with numerous exciting opportunities both within the conventional offshore business and in ocean space projects, including renewables and offshore tourism.

The position reports to the Country Manager.

• Manage the NB project professionally by preparing and updating plans for execution and control
• Execute and control the project within given budget and resources
• Ensure that common procedures and production tools for project execution are implemented, incl. establishing the project organization and organizing the project work
• Manage project risks by identifying and implementing additional quality and mitigating measures, as applicable
• Follow-up work execution and facilitate successful completion of assigned tasks with project team members while acting as mentor and coach to support development of the team members
• Evaluate effects of project changes (primarily scope), including impact on deliverables, schedule and budget, and reach contractual agreement with customer on these changes
• Manage stakeholders by giving appropriate understanding and attention to their needs, expectations and concerns, report on project status and areas of concern
• Inform and work with the Project Sponsor on conflicts and risks encountered during the project

Competence Needs

• Bachelor or Master degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or experienced Chief Engineer
• 5-7 years’ work experience as class & statutory Surveyor, including relevant active MTAS qualifications
• Experience as Project Manager for chemical tankers and bulkers, including relevant MTAS qualification as NB PM
• Ability to understand and improve complex processes, 5-7 years of related experience
• Thorough understanding of and experience with quality management systematics
• Working knowledge of risk management systematics
• Good command of English language (oral and written)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel inside Saudi Arabia
• Physical fitness to perform regular functions of the job, working at height and in confined spaces
