Job Description - Operator, Slag Handling

Oversee slag handling operations in SMS area, including slag and tapping pits under furnaces.

Ensure smooth movement of Ladle Transfer Car (LTC) by cleaning and maintaining tracks.

Carry out housekeeping and maintain cleanliness around EAF, slag pits, and surrounding areas.

Handle safe cooling of hot slag at dumping areas using water shower methods.

Support shutdown activities by cleaning pits, quenching towers, and chamber areas.

Assist in emergency situations such as slag overflow and ensure safe work conditions.

Follow company safety rules, HS&E policies, and ensure proper use of PPE at all times.

Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and support other operational and housekeeping tasks as required.
