Job Description - Process Control Engineer

Industry: Oil & Gas/Refinery/Petrochemical

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the definition of Process Control objectives for processes, and follow up to ensure that sector objectives align with overall Refinery goals. Oversee team activities to support the achievement of these objectives.
Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor the usage of standard control loops.
Manage and coordinate all project troubleshooting activities assigned to Process Control Engineers. Provide appropriate advanced control solutions to address recurring problems and issues.
Support modifications to Advanced Control Systems and related items within the PCS (Process Control System).
Ensure continuous knowledge management and sharing among colleagues.
Coordinate closely with the Senior Process Control Engineer to set priorities and manage activities.
Maintain effective communication and coordination with other divisions, including Maintenance (CET & M&R), Process Engineering, and Business Teams.
Contribute to the development of the annual Process Control budget.
Supervise and guide PCS Technicians in their respective areas.
Identify and support training and development needs of subordinates.
Forecast and manage the budget and expenditures for the organization.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Process Control.
Lead daily meetings and oversee day-to-day activities.
Ensure that Process Control Systems uphold high standards of Cybersecurity to protect refinery assets, production, and data.
Ensure that refinery process control systems are operated and maintained safely.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Provide direction, motivation, training, and technical support to colleagues and subordinates.
Prepare reports and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Participate in technical meetings and deliver presentations aligned with objectives.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent (Computer Science, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering).

Experience:

6-8 years of experience in Control Engineering within the Oil & Gas, Refinery or Petrochemical industry.
