Description
:Parsons is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in the design and construction of an Oceanarium Construction project. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive expertise in mechanical engineering to lead the development and implementation of mechanical systems and infrastructure critical to the operation of the oceanarium.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead and provide technical expertise in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for the oceanarium, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.
Utilize advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles to conceptualize and design innovative solutions for HVAC, plumbing, filtration, and life support systems tailored to the unique requirements of aquatic environments.
Provide on-site supervision and technical guidance during the construction phase, collaborating closely with contractors, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure the successful integration of mechanical systems with architectural and structural elements.
Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of mechanical designs and installations to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with mechanical systems and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex construction projects, preferably in the aquatic or marine industry.
Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, filtration, and life support systems design and operation, with a focus on aquatic environments.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and hydraulic modeling tools.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively mentor and manage a team of engineers and technical staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making processes.
