Registered Nurse - Paediatric/PICU/Paediatrics Oncology

Role Purpose

The Registered Nurse in the Paediatrics/PICU department is responsible for providing and coordinating patient-centric and evidence-based nursing care. This role ensures compliance with ethical and professional standards set by regulatory authorities and the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Patient Care

• Deliver high-quality patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team according to clinical standards and relevant legislation.
• Assess all patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medication accurately and promptly, managing controlled medications and executing physician's orders.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.

Patient Safety

• Ensure patient safety by identifying, preventing, and managing risks in accordance with clinical risk policies and procedures.
• Report all patient near misses and adverse events, adhering to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols.
• Ensure all emergency and other equipment is checked regularly and report faulty or missing equipment.

Positive Patient Experiences

• Actively manage patient experience and satisfaction, addressing complaints promptly.
• Promote a tidy, clean, and safe patient environment, ensuring nurse calls and patient requests are addressed promptly.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience: At least two years in PICU.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma, BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Professional Registration: Eligibility for licensing or licensed with the relevant Health Authority as a Registered Nurse.

Desired Experience:

• Experience in Saudi Arabia is beneficial.

Desired Education:

• PALS: PACU, PICU, ER certification is a plus.

Required Competencies:

• Proficiency in basic Arabic and intermediate English.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient safety standards.
