Job Description - Reliability/Mechanical Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a reliability/Mechanical Engineer to join the Khurais Producing Maintenance Division (KhPMD), under the Khurais Producing Department (KhPD). The organization handles all reliability activities for all rotating equipment at KhPD (CPF, satellite GOSP and CAPD).

Duties and Responsibilities:

A rotating equipment engineer with good experience shall be accountable for the area reliability under his custody. He should be self-motivated and possess effective communication skills and has high analytical capabilities.

You will be expected to perform the following:
  • The engineer shall be the focal point of contact person responsible for any critical or major equipment trouble shooting or failure analysis. He will call for meetings and collect all information necessary (process, vibration, assembly, etc.) to complete the investigation.
  • Be focal point of contact regarding rotating equipment with organizations outside the facility such as PMT, CSD, vendors, contractors, service shops, etc. Review and update maintenance strategy annually to optimize equipment maintenance tasks (decide which equipment should be under PM, PdM, or Proactive).
  • Review machinery repair procedures and work scopes in coordination with the workshops.
  • Review T&I scope and add any work if needed on rotating equipment during the T&I.
  • Identify new technologies and techniques to assist the organization in shifting from a preventive mode into a proactive mode.
  • Review Engineering Request packages for any machinery modifications or upgrade and provide comments.
  • Calculate and update the monthly and YTD asset KPI's.
  • Issue reliability program monthly report (MTBF, bad actors, etc.) updating the equipment health progress, and reporting failures and successes.
  • Follow up on the area's EMP programs and trends.
  • Establish asset's Fault analysis database ensuring all data, drawings, and information are complete and all modifications are updated.
  • Approve SAP equipment maintenance history records for any failed rotating equipment.
  • Investigate trips on critical equipment to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Oversee the PM, PdM, PaM and RCM programs.
  • Perform life cycle cost for bad actors and expensive repairs.

Minimum Requirements:
  • As a successful candidate, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • You must have min 5 years' experience, preferably in the oil, gas, or similar process industry.
  • You must have a wide experience in rotating equipment and reliability function.
  • You must have a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in troubleshooting and investigation, failure mode analysis and familiar with reliability programs.
  • You must have full knowledge of international standards and practices related to maintenance and reliability.
  • You should hold valid internationally recognized professional certifications such as CMRP or any reliability certificate.

  • Short-term Disability: In the event you are unable to work due to illness or injury, short-term disability income benefits are provided. The benefit is 30 days full pay and 60 days at three-quarters pay, in any one year period.
  • Death Benefit: The company pays an ex-gratia death benefit equal to 24 months base pay if death is from an industrial accident and 12 months base pay if death is non-industrial related.
