Description

The Senior SAP IBP Functional Consultant will serve as the primary subject matter expert responsible for supporting, configuring, and optimizing the client’s SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) environment. This role acts as a critical technical-functional bridge between IT and business stakeholders, ensuring end-to-end alignment across demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory control, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. SAP IBP Application & Technical Support

  • Maintain, support, and enhance core SAP IBP capabilities (Demand Planning, Supply & Response, and Inventory Optimization).
  • Perform root-cause analysis on system issues, handle incident management, and resolve functional, integration, or data-flow errors.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specification documents (FSDs) for system enhancements and custom analytics.

2. Supply Chain & Planning Process Execution

  • Collaborate with business planning units to optimize process flows for Demand & Supply Planning, statistical forecasting, and consensus planning.
  • Configure and support Inventory Optimization models and MRP logic to maintain safety stock levels and improve service levels.
  • Ensure seamless data integration between SAP IBP and underlying ERP ecosystems (SAP S/4HANA / SAP ECC).

3. Stakeholder Enablement & Quality Assurance

  • Execute end-to-end testing cycles, including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system releases.
  • Conduct user training, draft functional documentation, and guide business planners on standard methodologies within the platform.


Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience: 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience supporting and configuring SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP).

Core Competencies:

  • Deep functional knowledge of SAP IBP (Demand, Supply, Inventory modules).
  • Comprehensive understanding of supply chain fundamentals: Forecast Accuracy, MRP execution, Inventory Control, and Demand/Supply balancing.
  • Familiarity with data integration concepts via SAP CPI-DS or SDI to S/4HANA or ECC.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent client-facing communication skills, and the ability to articulate technical concepts to business leadership.
