Qiddiya Investment Company is thrilled to announce an opening for the position of Senior Director - Rail Design – Infrastructure and Systems. This vital role will involve leading the design and development of innovative rail systems that will play an integral part in our ambitious Qiddiya project, which aims to redefine entertainment, culture, and lifestyle in Saudi Arabia.

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of rail design, including infrastructure and operational systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that design concepts are not only visionary but also grounded in technical feasibility and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy Define and drive the overall vision and strategy for infrastructure and systems design.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional design teams including civil, mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align design strategies with business objectives and procurement under EPC and PPP models.
• Design Management
• Oversee the architectural and engineering design of infrastructure systems including but not limited to railway infrastructure, railway Systems and project management
• Ensure technical designs meet performance, scalability, security, and sustainability requirements.
• Guide the development and enforcement of proven technologies, international best practices and the local conditions.

Project Oversight

• Lead the design phases of capital and infrastructure projects, from conceptualization through delivery.
• Collaborate with project management, operations, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor project timelines, risks, and budgets related to the design function.
• Stakeholder Engagement Serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, IT, compliance) and external partners (vendors, contractors, consultants).
• Present design strategies and updates to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
• Innovation & Quality Champion the integration of new technologies and design methodologies (e.g., digital twin, modular construction, BIM, AI in systems monitoring).
• Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and sustainability goals (e.g., LEED, ISO, local codes).

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 16 - 19 years of experience in rail design and development, with a focus on infrastructure and systems.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale rail projects from initial concept through to implementation.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices in rail design.
• Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, capable of guiding a diverse group of professionals.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in engineering design software and tools related to rail systems.
• Passion for shaping the future of transportation and entertainment in Qiddiya.
