The Manual QA Engineer will validate banking and digital solutions across web, mobile, API, backend, and integrated systems. The role covers test analysis, test design, execution, defect management, reporting, and end-to-end validation while working closely with development, integration, business, release, and environment teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Review business requirements, user stories, change requests, and acceptance criteria to identify test scope, dependencies, and risks.
Prepare test scenarios, detailed test cases, test data, expected results, and requirement traceability.
Execute functional, system integration, end-to-end, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, positive, and negative testing.
Test web and mobile applications across supported browsers, operating systems, and devices.
Validate REST and SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman or SoapUI, including request, response, authentication, and error handling.
Perform database validation using SQL queries to confirm data accuracy, integrity, and end-to-end processing.
Review application, API, and server logs to support defect investigation and confirm system behaviour.
Validate integrations with upstream, downstream, middleware, and third-party services.
Log defects with clear steps, expected and actual results, evidence, impact, priority, and affected systems.
Participate in defect triage, support investigation, retest fixes, and follow defects through closure.
Maintain complete traceability between requirements, test cases, executions, evidence, and defects.
Support environment readiness checks, build verification, deployment smoke testing, and release validation.
Provide clear daily and weekly updates covering progress, pass/fail status, defects, blockers, risks, and completion readiness.
Work on-site with business, product, development, integration, release, and testing stakeholders.
Validate Arabic and English customer journeys, user interfaces, messages, and notifications where applicable.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
3-7 years of practical manual testing experience in complex applications and integrated environments.
Strong experience in functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Experience testing web, mobile, APIs, backend services, and databases.
Good knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle management.
Hands-on experience with Jira, Xray, ALM, or an equivalent test-management and defect-management tool.
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI and working knowledge of SQL.
Ability to understand logs, technical flows, and system dependencies when investigating defects.
Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Ability and willingness to work full-time on-site at Riyad Bank in Riyadh.
Preferred Experience
Banking, fintech, digital payments, cards, lending, onboarding, or digital-channel experience.
Experience in large-scale system integration testing environments.
ISTQB Foundation certification or an equivalent testing certification.
Basic awareness of test automation, CI/CD, and service virtualization or mock services.
Arabic-speaking capability for selected positions to support Arabic-channel validation and stakeholder coordination.
Expected Deliverables
Reviewed test scope, assumptions, dependencies, and risk inputs.
Approved test scenarios, test cases, test data, and requirement traceability.
Completed test execution results with supporting evidence.
Well-documented defects, retest results, and closure evidence.
Daily and weekly status reports, including risks and blockers.
Test completion report and sign-off recommendation.
