Site Engineer

Department Overview:

Our Cost Managers work in close contact with clients, advising them on all financial matters, project risks, procurement and contract matters using our depth of experience to provide an informed opinion and solutions.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to be based on-site in Hail, Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for planning, coordination and supervision of on-site activities for a Hotel project. You will ensure all aspects of the project align with engineering and design specifications, industry standards and construction regulations. You will also foster effective communication by liaising with contractors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Undertake a continuous overview of the daily operations of the construction project.

• Interpret and overview the implementation of the construction plans as per the project blueprints/drawings.

• Attend regular site meetings to monitor performance and progress based on the contractor’s programme and to discuss problems, co-ordination issues, etc.

• Liaise with the main contractor, sub-contractors, architects and other professional staff to ensure the project requirements are met.

• Assess potential risks and overview the implementation of preventative measures to mitigate them.

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

• Overview of the materials and resources utilized on the project site, to ensure that they are used/deployed effectively and wastage is minimized.

• Overview and monitor the Construction Supervision Consultant quality control process, including conducting regular inspections to verify that materials and workmanship meet the required quality standards.

• Receive, review and monitor details concerning schedules, payments, and variation orders.

• Keep accurate records of the construction progress, changes, and other relevant information.

• Assist/overview the resolution of technical issues with the project team and offer unbiased advice/opinions on improvements and solutions.

• Co-ordinate with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to ensure smooth project execution.

• Produce reports on work carried out by the contractor which highlights issues, obstacles, shortages, and recommendations.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal in Arabic and English.

• 10 years of experience as a site engineer, civil engineer or an equivalent role.

• Demonstrated proficiency in managing and supervising construction projects. Previous experience with hotel projects is an advantage.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and other software.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.

• Excellent project management and organisational skills.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with effective communication.
