We are seeking a talented Sushi Chef to join our team at Sushi Library, a modern Japanese dining destination. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting an array of sushi and Japanese dishes, upholding our culinary standards and delivering memorable dining experiences. Your expertise in seafood handling, sushi techniques, and attention to detail will be key in creating visually appealing and delicious dishes. Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and Japanese specialties with precision and creativity.
Ensure all dishes meet Sushi Library's recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
Select, cut, and portion fresh ingredients, especially seafood, with expertise.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation across the menu.
Inspect ingredients daily for freshness and premium quality.
Adhere to strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Manage inventory of seafood, sushi ingredients, and kitchen supplies.
Collaborate with kitchen and service teams during busy hours for seamless operations.
Engage professionally with guests, accommodating special dietary needs.
Represent Sushi Library's hospitality standards with positive interactions.

Qualifications

Culinary Arts certification or diploma is preferred.
Food Safety Certification (HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Sushi Chef in a reputable Japanese restaurant.
Advanced knife skills and expertise in fish-cutting techniques.
In-depth knowledge of Japanese ingredients, culinary traditions, and sushi methods.
Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
Passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to continuous learning.
