The BDI Surgery META, VP is responsible for the strategic, commercial, and operational leadership of the business across the region. This role has full P&L responsibility and drives balanced, profitable growth through strong strategy execution, market development, and commercial perfection while ensuring alignment with global BDI Surgery priorities.
The role is a key member of the META LT and partners closely with Global Surgery leadership to deliver regional objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Define and implement the Surgery strategy for the META region, aligned with global platform and corporate objectives.
Develop and own the three‑year strategic, operational, and financial plan for the Surgery business in META.
Identify market, portfolio, and growth opportunities across diverse healthcare systems and countries.
Financial & P&L Accountability
Full P&L ownership, including revenue, gross margin, and OIBT performance.
Deliver annual operating plan commitments and ensure disciplined forecasting and prioritisation.
Drive pricing rigor, portfolio mix optimization, and balanced margin expansion.
Commercial Excellence & Go‑To‑Market
Define and optimize Go‑To‑Market models across markets, channels, and customer segments.
Partner with Country GMs to ensure consistent execution of commercial excellence initiatives.
Lead successful new product launches, adoption, and lifecycle management in collaboration with global teams.
Strengthen customer engagement with senior decision‑makers, key customers, and clinical partners.
Cross‑Functional & Matrix Leadership
Collaborate with Global, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Medical Affairs.
Ensure full compliance with BD quality systems, regulatory requirements, and business conduct standards.
Drive operational rigor, performance management, and continuous improvement across the organization.
People & Organization Leadership
Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing regional Surgery leadership team.
Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, engagement, and customer focus.
Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines for critical roles.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
Experience
Extensive senior leadership experience in medical devices, surgical solutions, or supervised healthcare industries.
Proven track record of P&L leadership and driving profitable growth across multi‑country regions.
Experience operating successfully within matrixed, global organizations.
Demonstrated capability to lead change, transformation, and sophisticated matrix environments.

Additional Information
Role requires flexibility to travel extensively across META markets.
Position operates in a highly regulated environment with significant governance and compliance requirements.
