Job Description - Business Development Executive [homebase at Riyadh]

Raffles University, initially known as Raffles University Iskandar, was established by Raffles Iskandar Sdn. Bhd., a joint venture between Raffles Education Corporation Limited and Sdn Bhd (EISB), a member of the Iskandar Investment Group. Notably, the university received formal approval from Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) on 31st October 2011.

The Role

Job purpose:

Overall primary objective to develop student enrolment from outstations to Raffles University (RU), Malaysia.

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Responsible for the development of relationships with the high schools/international schools in outstation for the purpose of articulating into RU programs.
  2. Attend school fairs, education fairs and career expos to collect leads.
  3. Assist with local social media content.
  4. Follow up on leads collected from school events and social media.
  5. Provide consultation and responding to potential students by understanding their interest and needs thereby recommend suitable programs to them.
  6. In charge of outreach programs including but not limited to planning and conducting school talks, workshops, and short course in outstation high schools and learning centres.
  7. Maintain and build good relationships with outstation education agents and authorities that will support international student enrolment.
  8. Primary responsibility for enrolling students into RU programs; or in the event if not possible, for any other Raffles campus.

Ideal Profile

Requirements:

  1. Candidate must possess minimum 5 years in Sales and/or Business Development, or equivalent.
  2. Applicant with experience in the education industry is an advantage. 
  3. Applicant with experience in studying in Malaysia is an advantage. 
  4. Applicant from major outstation city is an advantage. 
  5. Work well independently, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  6. Demonstrate initiative and a resilient decision-making with good follow-up skills.
  7. A strong communicator in English and outstation language with well-honed interaction skills for internal and external communication with our Chinese-speaking counterparts.
  8. Good sense of urgency in meeting deadlines and targets, with a positive “can-do” attitude to align and adapt to our business dynamics in a fast-pasted environment.
  9. Proficient in MS Office applications for data preparation and reporting.
  10. Must be available to physically attend 5-days training at RU.
