Job Description - Commercial Investment Director

The Commercial Investment Director will lead our investment strategy to enhance the commercial performance and global footprint of Golf Saudi. The role demands a strategic thinker with a strong background in commercial investments and partnerships ideally within the sports industry, Entertainment however not mandatory. The director will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing significant investment opportunities that align with our long-term objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive investment strategy that complements Golf Saudi’s strategic goals.
  • Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities and partnerships that can drive commercial growth.
  • Negotiate and finalize investment deals and partnership agreements.
  • Work closely with the finance team to model financial scenarios and assess the potential ROI of various investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic vision and commercial goals.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environments.
  • Prepare and present detailed investment reports and recommendations to senior management and the board.
  • Must understand business models, options and Business planning.
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including investors, partners, and financial institutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team focused on commercial investments and partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior commercial investment or Finance business development role, preferably within the commercial sector, ideal sports or entertainment industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying, negotiating, and managing profitable investments and partnerships.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to create and assess financial models.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-pressure environment.
  • Deep understanding of the global sports market dynamics and a passion for golf would be a great advantage.
  • Strong business case presentation skill at board level is required.

  • Market Insight: Deep knowledge of the sports industry, current market trends, and the competitive landscape to identify and capitalize on investment opportunities.
  • Risk Management: Ability to assess and mitigate potential risks associated with investments to protect and maximize organizational interests.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively articulating investment ideas and plans to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Decision Making: Strong decision-making skills with a capability to make clear, timely, and informed choices based on a thorough analysis of available information.
  • Relationship Building: Proven skill in building and maintaining strong relationships with investors, partners, and other external parties.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and organizational needs, maintaining effectiveness in varying environments.
