Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Cost Estimator to join our team. The Cost Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, conducting cost analyses, and providing accurate cost estimates for construction projects and engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of cost estimation methodologies, and a proven track record of successful cost estimation and project budgeting.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and engineering designs to determine project requirements and cost factors for material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
2. Conduct comprehensive cost analyses and assessments, considering variables such as project scope, timelines, risk factors, and market conditions to provide accurate and reliable cost estimates for project budgets and proposals.
3. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to assess project requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and alternative materials or methods that align with project budget constraints.
4. Prepare detailed cost reports, cost breakdown structures, and cost forecasts, and provide regular updates and recommendations to project stakeholders on cost estimation, budgeting, and expenditure tracking.
5. Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids and proposals, negotiating cost-effective contracts and service agreements that meet project requirements and budgetary constraints.
6. Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost database and historical records of cost estimation data, benchmarks, and industry-specific pricing trends to inform future cost estimation processes and improve overall cost accuracy.
7. Provide support and guidance to project teams on cost management strategies, budget tracking, and cost control measures, ensuring that projects adhere to established cost estimates and financial objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized university, plus additional qualifications in costing or quantity calculation

Proven work experience of at least 10 years in cost estimation, with a strong focus on analyzing and estimating costs for construction projects or engineering firm.

In-depth knowledge of cost estimation principles, methodologies, and industry-specific pricing trends, with a solid understanding of construction materials, labor costs, and equipment pricing.

Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools for data analysis, cost modeling, and budget forecasting.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex cost data and provide effective solutions for cost optimization and budget management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Strong in preparing cost estimates for construction projects (buildings, roads, bridges, tunnels, utilities, gardens, parks, water projects, and electrical and mechanical projects).

A candidate who is fluent in Arabic and English is preferred
