Riyadh Air is seeking a Flight Operations Officer (FOO) to combine multiple functions of the OCC into a single role. This is to leverage the capabilities of modern, exception-based computer systems and optimize the utilization and flexibility of available manpower.

JOB PURPOSE:

The position is GACA licensed and a part of a shared system of operational control. It will include the complete supervision of each flight including flight planning, load planning, flight following, rotation management, hub control and disruption management. In line with the principles of shared operational control the FOO will proactively provide full support and input to crew in-flight for optimum situational awareness and decision making. The KPIs associated with this role will be focused on safety, efficiency, and punctuality.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Maintain a culture of open communication within and external to the OCC to ensure optimum communication flows for informed decision making.
• Ensure that dispatch releases are prepared to a high standard in accordance with GACAR regulations and RXI standard operating procedures.
• Exercise operational control of each flight in shared responsibility and full co-ordination with the Pilot in Command through a Flight Watch system; using all means at their disposal to maintain flight safety. Communicate and coordinate with crew, ATC and other entities as required.
• Ensure that planned flight trajectories are optimized for safety and economy thereby maximizing payload capability and commercial opportunity at lowest cost.
• Plan and review the rotation of all network flights to optimize on-time performance and revenue opportunity while maintaining the highest safety standards. Proactively troubleshoot the flying program within the pre-operational window to eliminate problems before they manifest on the day of operations.
• Control the weight and balance process of each flight with the aim of delivering safe load plans and optimizing aircraft performance and payload capability.
• In close coordination with MCC and other sections, manage the turnaround performance of each flight and monitor the entire operation; intervening as required to maintain network performance against KPIs.
• During disruption, lead, manage, mitigate, and recover the situation towards the best and safest outcome.
• Exercise emergency authority as and when required, and should it be required trigger contingency response activation.
• Proactively escalate events when required, provide scheduled operational reports, shift logs and ad-hoc information as required by Senior Management. Liaise with all other entities within the RXI OCC as required.
• In line with F.R.E.S.H values and continuous improvement objectives, drive operational performance across the airport operations to deliver the optimum customer experience and ensure that feedback loops are used to enhance processes and procedures.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5+years of experience within an airline’s dispatch and/or operations control environment.
• Experience of using computerized flight planning systems
• Experience with centralized load control would be beneficial.
• Experience of shared operational control systems would be beneficial.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in aviation or Airline Operations preferred or related vocational experience preferred.

LICENCES

• GACA aircraft dispatcher license or recognized ICAO equivalent.
• Physical ability to pass GACA class 3 medical.
• Ability to meet ICAO ELP 4 requirements.
