Road Operation Supervisor

Job Purpose:

• The Road Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervising all road transportation operations to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of shipments in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and shipping instructions.
• The Road Operations Supervisor role requires a strongly motivated person with developed communication skills and indepth knowledge in the freight forwarding and logistics industry that can coordinate with verticals team and ensure smooth operations and best service level for the client

Key Accountabilities:

Operations Management & Planning:

• Supervise and coordinate the pickup, transportation, and delivery of freight shipments by road
• Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), shipping instructions, and all relevant industry regulations
• Optimize routing, load planning, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and on-time performance
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, damage rates, and driver productivity
• Identify and promptly resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks to minimize disruptions
• Supervise preplanning of Road operations to facilitate smooth operations
• Review all shipment documents to ensure correct documentation flow and smooth operations fulfilment

Operations (Import and Export Data):

• Manage execution of freight forwarding shipments in accordance with SOPs and shipping instructions received
• Ensure SOP and shipping instructions are met throughout the execution life cycle
• Check progress updates, follows up with service providers/ carriers and track shipment progress
• Ensure coordination with origin offices/agents to execute the shipments perfectly running without delays
• Ensure accurate information in the system on the shipments status
• Ensure documents prepared and submitted by Bahri Operations, clients and service providers are accurate
• Ensure quality standards of service are met with requirements

Fleet Management:

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and utilization of the company's fleet of trucks and vehicles
• Monitor vehicle utilization and identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency

Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive records of all road transportation activities, including shipment tracking, delivery status, and service provider performance
• Analyze operational data and prepare regular reports on KPIs, achievements, and areas for improvement
• Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service and accounting, to ensure the timely exchange of information
• Report immediately any issues for our operations to Bahri offices and keep following up until issues resolved

Leadership:

• Effectively support employees to meet daily requirements/deadlines through addressing queries, resolving day-to-day work-related issues, and providing technical on-the-job training
• Advise functional teams or projects on his/her area of specialization
• Lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, technology, or equivalent.
• 8 years of experience in a required field and minimum 1 year in a supervisory role.
