Job Description - Supply Chain & Logistics Manager (OEM) - Rewarding Work

The Opportunity:

Our client is one of the global leading OEM company in the Automotive industry, specializing in the assembly and supply of engineered driveline, sealing and thermal technologies. We are currently seeking a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to be responsible for freight forwarder management, demand and supply planning, inventory, and operations supervision.

  • Mon-Fri 8.30AM-6PM
  • Basic up to $6,500 + AWS + Variable Bonus

The Job:

Freight Forwarder Management

  • Coordination for inbound, import, and export operations.
  • Discussing shipping timelines and negotiating favorable freight rates to optimize the transportation cost of goods.
  • Ensure adherence to customs regulations and proper documentation to facilitate seamless international shipments.
  • Tracking freight forwarders' performance metrics and advice improvements as required.

Demand and Supply Planning

  • Collaborating with sales, marketing and production teams for accurate forecast on product demands.
  • Develop and implement supply strategies to maintain adequate inventory levels that meet customer demand.
  • Examine historical data, market trends, and customer behavior to enhance inventory management, reducing instances of stockouts and overstocking.
  • Take proactive measures to manage potential disruptions in the supply chain and put contingency plans into action.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee stock-keeping operations and maintain healthy inventory level.
  • Monitor inventory levels and verify accurate quantities are recorded in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Deploy inventory management strategies to mitigate losses due to shrinkage, spoilage, and obsolescence.
  • Enhance inventory turnover rates and minimize carrying costs to optimize the efficiency of working capital.

Inbound Operations

  • Supervise inbound operations and verify that Purchase Orders (POs) are in accordance with agreed quantity schedules.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to guarantee timely receipt of goods.
  • Promptly resolve any discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, or quality issues.

3PL Partners

  • Collaborate with 3PL partners on warehouse, fulfilment and logistics matters.
  • Ensure that 3PL partners conform to service level agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Oversee and evaluate the performance of 3PL partners and foster strong working relationship.

Reporting

  • Produce reports detailing essential supply chain metrics and performance indicators.
  • Offer recommendations and insights derived from data analysis to enhance both the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of logistics operations.
  • Convey the status of the supply chain and any potential risks to management and pertinent stakeholders.

Process Improvement

  • Keep records of logistics workflows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and user guides. Continuously identify opportunities for process and technology improvements.
  • Deploy best practices and inventive solutions to enhance logistics, storage, transportation, forecasting, and cost management.

Leadership

  • Encourage a collaborative and positive team culture that emphasizes open communication and effective problem-solving.
  • Work with other department leaders to ensure alignment of logistics strategies with overarching business goals.

The Talent:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Business Management
  • Min. 5-8 years of relevant experiences in logistics management, material planning
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and management
  • Proficiency in Navision would be highly advantageous
  • Strong verbal presentation in Mandarin to support internal and external stakeholders from mainland China.
