Operations Technician (STAB)
 

Job Description:

A) Environment, Health and Safety (EHS)

• Safety is a core value at Veolia, and a precondition for employment. You are expected to uphold the Veolia Always Safe rules and set an example to all colleagues in your daily work routine
• Comply to Veolia Life Saving Rules while performing work inside company premises
• Effectively participate and contribute in company EHS programmes and initiatives
• Comply to all EHS procedure (SOP) and work process such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Procedure, Permit to Work (PTW) Procedure, Work at Height (WAH) procedure, Confined Space (CS) Entrance Procedure, Hot Work Procedure and etc
• Comply in reporting and highlighting any plant EHS/Process incident or near misses
• Comply with company training requirements
• Participate as team members in Risk Assessment (RA) development, Management of Change (MOC) implementation and Pre-StartUp Safety Review (PSSR) activity
• Responsible to ensure plant, work station, control room and individual locker cabinet is

maintaining in good housekeeping conditions and comply with company 5S procedure

B) Emergency Response

• To attend fire fighting training and be part of Company Emergency Response Team (CERT)
• To participate in company emergency drill and response exercise
• Be familiar in term of function and operational of company fire fighting system and safety gear (Including SCBA and Bunker Coat)

C) Operational

• Responsible but NOT LIMITED to Stabilization plant area coverage and duties such as  operating the Stabilization control panel system and operating excavator machine 
• Ensure stabilization unit is running smoothly by proper planning and execution 
• Responsible to carry out field duties according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and / or Operation Supervisor’s instructions
• Perform stabilization unit plant start-up, shutdown and plant turnaround activities according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Supporting other unit plant start-up, shutdown and plant turnaround activities with guidance from lead technicians and supervisors
• Perform planned rounds at the field and take corrective action to maintain equipment and plant operations within safe operating limits and product quality compliance.
• Highlight to Supervisor on duty in the event of any abnormality which can affect plant production and safety
• Safely prepare process equipment to handover to maintenance team for any repair works
• Proactively perform and conduct first level maintenance activities to ensure no plant interruption
• Take part in operating procedures development and prepare job pack documentation for equipment repair
• Perform initial plant troubleshooting and resolve field related operational issues to ensure smooth plant operation 
• Provide support for the engineering team on new project initiatives and implementation
• Participate and proactively contribute in any type of root cause analysis i.e Work Incident Reporting (WIR) and others
• Perform any other tasks which may be assigned to him by Ops Supervisor or Ops Manager

Job Requirements: 

• Possess a recognised Diploma or Vocational / National Technical Certificate (Nitec) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Acquired at least 3 years of relevant experience in Cement Manufacturing Industries, Wastewater Plant or Hazardous Waste Management Plant
• Possess excavator license is advantageous
• Familiar with batch process
• Able to do extensive manual labor activities at site
• Possess analytical skills with experience in troubleshooting is a definite advantage
• Able to perform independently and work well with others
• Able to work in a team and independently.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Resilient, able to perform under pressure and can work both independently and in a team environment.
