The Key Account Manager (Singapore & Malaysia) develops, sustains and nurtures solid relationships with targeted key growth accounts in assigned territories. S/he utilises efficiently company resources to identify and develop opportunities and implement strategic solutions to achieve our growth and profit goals with our customers in a mutually beneficial approach.
(A) Key Responsibilities:
(1) Account Management:
- Lead and guide strategic planning for key account
- Develop comprehensive action plans for main accounts
- Analyse customer potential through brand SWOT and competition data
- Manage brief pipeline (quality and quantity of projects) to achieve target growth objectives
(2) Negotiation and Collaboration:
- Manage commercial projects in collaboration with Creation and Application teams
- Ensure company presence at customers sites through regular product demonstrations and technical team interactions
- Follow up on customer submissions and manage projects from production and launch
- Negotiate pricing agreements following company guidelines
(3) Business Development:
- Expand business with assigned accounts by managing topline and profitability
- Develop a broad base of new business opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, positioning us as the preferred supplier
- Secure participation in targeted projects and inclusion on preferred supplier lists
(B) Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science and technology, General Science, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar role and capacity with competitors or in adjacent industry (e.g., ingredients, food & beverage sector, etc)
- Proven sales & commercial experience in key account management with strong track record in converting key project commercial success with the list of target key accounts in the assigned territories
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, analyze data and make informed business decisions (Strategic Thinking)
- Sound technical knowledge and/or have experience working closely with technical teams (R&D, Innovation, Application)
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications as well as CRM software
- Highly motivated and individual contributor with good interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Adaptable to rapid changing environment and strong problem-solving skills
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit for a hunger & drive for success
(C) Additional Requirements
- Travel - Willingness to travel extensively between Singapore & Malaysia to meet customers, attend industry events and visit company manufacturing
- Transport - Possess own transportation with a valid driving license and willing to travel
