About the role
We are looking for an Analyst - Trade Finance to join our Commercial Services unit.

Reporting to the Supervisor Trade Finance & Shipping Pacific, you will:
- Execute the Letter of Credit (LC) process from LC draft and to LC Swift vetting to ensure clean LCs are available for shipments on a timely basis.
- Support LC document presentations via the accurate creation of financial documents in SAP.
- Liaise with banks to secure the best confirmation rates for confirmed LCs and to resolve LC discrepancies and bank fee issues.
- Monitor prompt issuance of ATL (Authorization to Load) and accurate reporting of ATL/LC status to ports and scheduling team.
- Enhance customer credit monitoring report for Iron Ore & developed automated LC report for Bauxite to Credit team.
- Design & improve reports for mid-year and year-end LC discounting requirements.
- Actively participate in projects to efficiently deliver solutions for LC process and reporting
- Conduct root cause analysis for problems that occur and implement preventive measures.
- Act as a key point of contact to improve communication and process between Commercial Services and various stakeholders such as the Sales/Scheduling teams.
- Proactively identify business initiatives and automation improvements to enhance workflow, tracking, and reporting capabilities for the teams to meet business objectives.
- Perform data analysis/reporting activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Training and monitoring new joiners in the team.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in either Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- At least 2 years of commercial, finance and/or treasury experience in a large multinational with previous experience working with or on commercial, finance and/or treasury-related issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to reach out and build collaborative stakeholder relationships across different levels.
- Strong experience and background in Commodity Industry, preferably in bulk commodities.
- Supply Chain, Trade Finance, Shipping knowledge.
- International trade documentation / Letters of Credit are essential. Strong knowledge of Incoterms and UCP600.
- Ability to work well in a matrix environment and strong stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Knowledge of Power BI or any other data analytics tools/applications.
- Experience using Salesforce.
- Prior experience in business improvement projects.
- The ability to comprehend business needs, convert them into requirements, and develop and execute an implementation plan.
