Job Description - Associate Director, SIS Operations & Analytics

Job Summary

· Shared Investigative Services (SIS) Operations & Analytics is responsible for the management of the Bank’s whistleblowing channels, provision of related management information, and risk and policy related matters for SIS. The role sits within the SIS Operations & Analytics’ Risk and Policy team.

· The Risk & Policy (R&P) team is responsible for the following, but not limited to

· SIS Risk Framework, performing risk assessments related to SIS processes and technology applications

· Risk and Governance, such as risk and control assessment

· SIS’s adherence to the Bank’s Records Keeping, Privacy and Data Sovereignty commitments

· Policies, Standards and Department Operating Instructions (DOI)

· Managing audits, regulatory requests and projects relevant to the SIS.

· The role would be responsible for managing and implementing the R&P team’s portfolio to ensure SIS’s compliance with the Bank and regulatory requirements, and a robust governance and risk management process.

· The successful candidate should have experience in risk management and operational risk preferably within the Bank. Experience within the financial industry as well as project management is also preferred as the role requires managing and prioritising competing deliverables.

Strategy

· Manage SIS’s Records Keeping, Privacy and Data Sovereignty processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and Bank’s requirements.

· Contribute and drive continual improvements in the SIS processes by identifying policy and standard revisions to continually improve and optimise these processes.

· To assist in the administration and management of the Bank’s whistleblowing programme to minimise financial losses, reputational and regulatory risks, operational risk events involving criminal conduct, dishonesty or deliberate breaches of policies or regulations.

· As required, assist in management of the SIS case management system, including issuing user access rights and resolving system issues.

Risk Management

· Manage the Risk Management Framework for SIS, including performing regular control checks and reporting of results.

· Responsible for performing various Bank’s mandated risk assessments for SIS’s processes, systems and applications.

· Proactively review controls and governance of the SIS Process Universe, keeping up to date with changes in the Group’s risk management strategy, process and appetite.

· Engage and manage stakeholders to ensure that appropriate senior management are kept informed of key risks and issues.

· Apply all relevant Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and standards to manage risks

· Maintaining and developing engagement with Risk Framework Owners.

Business

· Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability and integrity, providing timely, responsive and quality support to enable the Bank to achieve its strategic objectives.

Processes

· As required, assist in managing queries and other reporting requirements related to the whistleblowing programme. This includes providing MI related support.

· As required, liaise with SIS and other teams to understand relevant Bank requirements.

· Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Analyse opportunity for automation and provide input for the same.

· As required, assist in updating and maintaining the process documents for the SIS

· Building strong partnerships with all internal/external stakeholders that allow end-to-end seamless delivery of services.

People & Talent

· As required, maintain relationships with the independent external vendor appointed by the Bank to host its confidential reporting website to support the Speaking Up Programme.

· Engage and manage stakeholders to ensure that appropriate senior management are kept informed of relevant matters.

· Sound relationship management of other functions within the Bank to ensure the effective and efficient use of SIS resources.

Governance

· Reinforce an effective and exemplary risk and control culture and further strengthen the control environment.

· Act to minimise operational loss and audit failures and take proactive measures to respond to matters arising.

· As required, support SIS teams to ensure that they are adhering to the highest standards of risk management and control. This include developing and conducting training sessions.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

· Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.

· Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Our Ideal Candidate

· 5+ years of experience in Risk Management, Operational Risk and Records & Data Management, preferably in Bank

· Experience in managing Policies, Standards and / or Department Operating Instructions

· Previous regulatory experience or financial services industry

· Understanding of regulatory framework and requirements pertaining to financial services industry

· Ability to prioritise multiple deliverables with organisational and time management skills

· Project management and organisational skills

· Sound working knowledge of MS Office suite particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· CFE, CAMS or like accreditation

· Experience in project management

· Working knowledge of programming skills such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL
