About the role

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Jod, you will be at the helm of driving technological innovation for Southeast Asia’s blue collar workforce. You will own the product development function, drive delivery of the software platform and products, and work directly with the senior management team on product vision and strategy. You will build and lead a best-in-class tech team across engineering, product, design, QA, etc.

Your role will encompass strategic leadership and collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-impact solutions. Your experience and expertise in building scalable software and platform solutions will be instrumental in architecting and enhancing our cloud based platforms and products, overseeing integrations with external parties and developing applications that drive business value that is enterprise-grade, innovative, and secure.

Core Responsibilities

• Utilize your system architecture expertise to define the long-term platform architecture for enabling resilient, cloud-based, highly reliable solutions.
• Assess existing platform and design, build, and maintain applications ensuring security, reliability, and scalability that best aligns with our evolving business needs.
• Develop data engineering capabilities that interface with data warehouse solutions for data analytics and reporting.
• Make strategic resource decisions, including hiring, outsourcing, and managing the workforce of the technology team to support our ambitious growth plans.
• Provide strategic direction and technical leadership that drives the technology team forward, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence and professional growth.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, client solutions, and compliance, to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business objectives.
• Ensure adherence to government regulations and implement best-in-class security protocols to safeguard data integrity and ensure asset protection.
• Identify risks and maintain a robust risk management framework with ongoing vulnerability assessments.

Who you are

• Senior experience, preferably prior CTO experience, product delivery ownership, having demonstrated technical expertise, strategic vision, successful project management and team building.
• Solid track record in enterprise software development and multi-cloud architecture, bonus points if in the HR tech industry.
• A self-starting, entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to quickly adapt to changes and the commitment to fostering a culture of high-quality code delivery.
• Exceptional communication skills to thrive in a dynamic environment and lead cross-functional teams to drive technology strategy.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in multi-cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with deep expertise in cloud architecture and deployment strategies.
• Proficiency and expertise in full-stack development across a broad range of programming languages, with special focus on Python (Django), React Native, React and PHP Laravel.
• Expertise in deployment of both web applications and mobile applications (Android and iOS)
• Strong background in database technologies especially MySQL to design and manage scalable database solutions.
• Well-versed in DevOps practices, including continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) with tools like GitHub.
• Experienced in setting up monitoring and alerting systems using industry-standard tools like Sentry, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of issues.
