Competitive Women's Artistics Gymnastics (WAG) Coach

UWCSEA Dover has a vacancy to start from August 2024 for a Women's Artistic Gymnastics Coach who is experienced in coaching Recreation and competitive gymnastics.

Main Responsibilities

Coaching:

• Assist in planning a gymnastics curriculum for different levels and ensure that coaching techniques are in accordance to best practices
• Prepare, plan and deliver technically sound session plans (for WAG Junior and Senior Competitive Squads).
• Monitor attendance/progress and set individualized and team plans (training and competition) including periodic physical and skill testing for all gymnasts
• Managing & achieving targets based on annual plans
• To work with team members collaboratively to achieve common goals

Operational (providing daily oversight so as to ensure):

• Work with the Head of Gymnastics and Head of WAG to ensure the gymnastics equipment is efficient and safe for use
• Optimal usage of the gymnasium and equipment
• Safe handling of equipment, usage guidelines are adhered to and advising equipment/training aid shortages etc.

Administrative:

• Assist in coordinating pre-season assessments, registrations, trials, class allocations
• Assist with the sign-up process, in line with the Dragons Gymnastics Program
• Support administration and communication with all stakeholders in the programme.
• Attend and be an active member of the weekly staff meetings and WAG sub meetings

Hosting Meets and Invitationals:

• Work with the Head of Gymnastics to help support the planning, preparation and delivery of gymnastics meets.
• Assist to ensure meets can be run smoothly

Person Specifications

• Qualified Gymnastics coach with excellent experience in coaching children (K-12)
• Holding qualifications (FIG level 1 or equivalent )
• At least 5 years of experience
• An all-round knowledge of Gymnastics and development requirements pertaining to different age groups.
• Familiarity with Australian Levels Programme (ALP)/Singapore Levels Programme (SGLP) routines is a bonus.
• Adopt an appropriate approach to age-group training focusing on technical competence, team-building and long-term success
• Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills and is able to relate to students, parents and teachers with quality service.
• Familiar with Google Suite or equivalent software
• Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently with a positive working attitude and a willingness to be involved in all aspects of school life.
• Able to work during weekends and evenings.
