Job Description - Head of Supply Chain, Singapore

The Group (including associates and joint ventures) operates under a number of well-known brands across food, health and beauty, home furnishings, restaurants and other retailing.

The Role:

You will be the driving force behind the smooth and efficient operations of the entire supply chain for our popular brands - 7-Eleven, Cold Storage, Giant, and Guardian. You are responsible for making sure that everything from sourcing and planning to logistics and inventory management runs like a well-oiled machine, ensuring that products are delivered to stores promptly and meeting the ever-changing demands of customers. With a strategic mindset, you will lead initiatives, implement cutting edge practices, foster strong partnerships with suppliers, and internal teams to deliver top-notch service and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning - developing and executing supply chain strategies aligned with overall business objectives of the 3 formats; this involves identifying opportunities for operational improvement, cost optimization and implementing innovative solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Supply Chain Optimization and Operational Excellence - play a pivotal role in optimizing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring seamless logistics and inventory management across all retail channels.
  • End-to-end Supply Chain Management including demand planning & forecasting, distribution & logistics, inventory management, quality control & compliance.
  • Supplier Relationship Management - includes supplier (such as 3PL) compliance, conducting regular performance reviews and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stays abreast of Industry Trends and Technology - Keep updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain management, retail logistics, and inventory optimization. Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies and solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency, visibility, and agility.
  • Cross-functional collaboration - Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the Operations and Commercial teams, to align the supply chain strategy with business goals and objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supply chain performance and provide regular reports and insights to senior management and team members.
  • Team Leadership and Development – Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of at least 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the retail industry, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of the retail industry, including knowledge of the Food, Health & Beauty and Convenience sectors and competitive landscape in Singapore.
  • Strong comprehension and passion for omnichannel business with brick and motor and e-Commerce.
  • Experience in high growth / change environments with process improvements, implementing supply chain best practices, and implementing new technology, such as automation a definite plus.
  • Track record having led large teams and worked in highly matrixed structure with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, hands-on working approach, excellent communication / presentation skills along with sound commercial awareness are the keys to success in this role.
